My sisters and I call our travel, “convention”. Why so-called convention? Actually the term was my idea to sugar coat our real intent. It’s a bonding of us sisters with the common interest to travel (our perfect form of escapism). As for my eldest sis, it’s her escape from a power tripper lady boss; for my other sister, it’s what she needs to get over a simply boring, sedentary life. And as for me it’s the feel like I just need to get away!

Travel used to be luxury but now it’s a necessity. Yes, if you insist on staying in five-star hotels and resorts, travel can be very expensive. I don’t have to be rich in order to travel. It can be affordable. I save for my trips. I don’t wear expensive things nor own jewelry. Promo fare, cheap flights and staying in lodges and travelling in group, you can make travel happen. And generous sisters could really make it happen!

I am a coupon/voucher online enthusiast! But be warned of promos online. Unfortunately, our Coron tour package bought from a Group Buying online website CleverBuy Philippines turned out to be a scam. Still got lucky that its partner merchant J2 Discount Travel and Tours was able to issue us three roundtrip airfare tickets from Cebu Pacific before the scam was flashed all over the news. What we failed to avail was the accommodation.
Anyway, we decided that we’ll only get a place once we’re in Coron. Outside the Busuanga Airport, you could get a lot of offers of Coron tour packages for a cheap price. Ours was 3D/2N stay at Eco Lodge with breakfast, roundtrip airport transfers, 1D Coron Island Loop tour with lunch, all for the price of P2750/pax. It was a good deal, best buy!

We really enjoyed Coron, especially Maquinit Hot Springs, the only saltwater hot spring in the Philippines. The pool is filled with salt water coming directly from a nearby mountain. The temperature of the water is 40 degrees Celsius. The entire site is surrounded by mangroves and rocks. Don't miss this popular attraction in Coron!

CYC Beach is the last remaining beach in the Coron Island Loop. It has the best white powdery sands, clear blue waters and picturesque sights.

Mount Tapyas is one of the most visited attraction in Coron. This is the best place to get a panoramic view of Coron Bay and Coron town. It has a staircase of 718 paved and concrete steps with handrails. This leads you to the view deck with a giant cross on the top of Mt. Tapyas.

Kayangan Lake is my most favorite place in Coron. It is said to be the cleanest lake in Asia. It is also referred to as the Blue Lagoon for its crystal clear water. The Lake is situated right amidst the marvelous limestone cliff formations. So you need to climb a rough and muddy steps for 10 minutes or so to reach a small cave wherein you get a view of Kayangan Bay. Then another few minutes hike to descend to the breathtaking open lake.

Part of the Coron Loop tour was lunch at the Banol Beach. The beach has two coastal inlets or coves, white sands and clear water. There are cottages available. Our guide/boatman cookout here. We had grilled fish, grilled pork, fresh lato or green seaweed, mango salsa and banana.

There was also this place we frequented called B. Ukay, the only store on the island where you can buy imported items. Addict lang sa shopping mga sisters kaya pati ukay dinayo... ansaya…LOL.
I would say Coron is a slice of paradise. I really love Coron and will definitely be back with my fam bam!!!
